Some Tennessee lawmakers disagree with AG’s decision to support Texas lawsuit

Some Tennessee lawmakers say they disagree with Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery III’s decision to support a lawsuit out of Texas.

Others, like Tennessee Senator Jack Johnson (R-District 23) says he agrees with Slatery’s decision.

Slatery announced his support of an amicus bill with Missouri Wednesday, one day after Texas announced its lawsuit against four battleground states with Joe Biden victories.

Representative Vincent Dixie (D-District 54) said he feels like Tennessee is meddling in something that’s none of our business.

“How would we feel if someone else was meddling in Tennessee’s government affairs? We’d be upset about it,” Dixie said.

Johnson though, said he thinks it is Tennessee’s business.

“It’s absolutely Tennessee’s business to make sure that when we are electing a president and the vice president that each state is doing it in accordance with United States Constitution,” Johnson said.
